Recently, the Xini Charity Education Project has benefited five new high school students. This year marks the fourth year of our partnership with Hangzhou Lin’an Middle School. Through the introduction of teachers at Lin’an Middle School, we were able to meet these students, who despite coming from impoverished families are both excellent in character and academics. To date, the number of students receiving our charity support at Lin’an Middle School alone has reached 22. During this trip, the Xini Charity Charity Team visited and expressed their condolences to each of these five students.

Chen Jing (a pseudonym) now lives with her aunt. Her aunt told us that Chen Jing’s parents died when she was 6 and 8, respectively. We encourage her to study hard, and our company provides her with a monthly living allowance. Chen Jing is very grateful for our company’s support. She is quiet but very polite. Her aunt is also very proud of this outstanding niece.

Shang Chenwei (a pseudonym) lives with his grandparents in a rented compound. We found him through a neighbor, who said, “You’re looking for that boy who loves to laugh. He lives on the second floor,” pointing to the right room. We met Shang and his grandmother, who explained that his father died when he was very young, and his mother ran away from home two years ago. His grandparents used to work at the sanitation department, but his grandmother has rheumatoid arthritis and can’t do manual labor, so the family’s living expenses are now entirely dependent on his grandfather’s salary. His grandparents also left their mountain home to work and rent in Lin’an City to support their grandson’s studies.

Zhu Jiangtao (a pseudonym) is shy and has a scholarly air. His mother hosted us at her home. Zhu is the second son, with an older sister currently attending university. His father was diagnosed with uremia over a decade ago and now requires dialysis three times a week, causing both inconvenience and financial strain on the family. Fortunately, both his siblings are exceptionally talented, a significant relief for their parents. We briefly explained the assistance policy to the family, and they expressed gratitude and increased hope for the future.

Xiao Qinqin (a pseudonym) lost her father when she was six years old. Her mother not only had to raise her daughter, but also care for her ailing brother-in-law and her elderly parents-in-law. Xiao felt deeply for her mother, and after she explained her own situation, she couldn’t help but hug her and cry. We feel deeply for this young girl, who, despite her young age, has endured so much adversity. Perhaps she studied hard hoping to repay her mother with excellent grades and give her the motivation to support her life.

Jiang Shanshan (a pseudonym) lost her father’s gambling addiction, even their only house. After her parents divorced, Jiang Shanshan (a pseudonym) and her mother moved back in with her grandmother. Her grandfather suffered from Alzheimer’s, leaving her grandmother to care for him, leaving her mother to work and support the family. Her grandmother said Jiang’s family background made her feel insecure and timid, even refusing to speak up when bullied by other children.

While these children’s experiences vary, they all endure immense pressures at such a young age. However, these challenges haven’t defeated them; instead, they’ve strengthened their resolve and strived to repay their loved ones with outstanding academic performance. During this visit, we provided them with a consolation grant and promised to provide them with monthly financial aid until they graduate and enter the workforce. Their cries of “thank you!” expressed their sincere gratitude.
We encourage them to overcome challenges, strive for greater heights, and quickly become pillars of our nation, giving back to society and helping more people. We firmly believe that their perseverance and drive will continue to shine, bringing hope and vitality to their families through their outstanding academic performance. The Xini Charity Student Aid Group will continue to monitor these children’s growth, accompanying them along the way and providing them with both spiritual and financial support. We wish them a brighter future.
